Getting the hang of a manual car takes some practice. You have to learn how the clutch feels and how the gears should shift. At 88 Driving School, we guide you through each part in a simple way. We give you enough time to settle in and keep building skill from one lesson to the next.

You will learn the key skills for driving a manual car. This includes finding the bite point on the clutch, changing gears, and doing the basics like steering and braking. You will also practise how to start the car safely and move off without jerking.
You will spend time on position and control too. That means placing the car on the road properly and handling common day-to-day traffic moments. The goal is to help you understand what the car is doing, not just to copy a set of steps.
If you have not driven yet, that’s okay. If you have driven before, that’s fine too. Our instructors will guide you and match the speed that feels right for you. Once you feel more at ease in the car, you can take over more of the driving on your own.

Clutch control can take time to master. We’ll help you practise until moving off and stopping starts to feel much more natural.

As well as controlling the car, you’ll work on observation, road positioning and making sensible decisions while driving.

If you need more practice with something, we’ll spend time on it. There’s no need to move ahead until you’re ready.

Choose your lesson and arrange a date and time that works for you.
